Advocacy
The Kaiser Permanente Washington Family Medicine Residency Program is deeply committed to advocacy as an essential part of family medicine training. Our residents actively engage in health policy and community advocacy at both the state and national levels, participating in Advocacy Day at the Washington State Capitol in Olympia, where they meet with legislators to promote policies that improve access to care, health equity, and the well-being of our communities. Residents also have opportunities to represent family medicine during the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Family Medicine Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C., collaborating with physicians and trainees from across the country to advocate for patients and the future of primary care. Through these experiences, our residents develop the skills and confidence to be effective physician leaders and champions for meaningful change in healthcare.
